The Family Moves to a New Home

The Nelson family was moving to a new home. The old house had become cramped after twins, Emma and Alex, were born into the family.
On the morning of moving day, 10-year-old Sophie woke up excited.
"Mom, have you seen my Buddy?" Sophie shouted. Buddy was her beloved stuffed dog.
"Check the cardboard boxes!" mom answered from the kitchen, where she was packing the last dishes.
Sophie examined the boxes, but Buddy was nowhere to be found. She began to worry. What if Buddy had been left somewhere?
At the same time, dad and the neighbor Jack were loading furniture into the moving truck. "Watch your back," Jack warned as they lifted a heavy sofa.
"No worries," dad laughed. "I'm strong as a bull!" Just then, dad's grip slipped, and the sofa fell on his toes.
"Ouch ouch ouch!" dad howled, hopping on one foot. Jack tried not to laugh.
In the middle of the chaos, Sophie continued searching for Buddy. She checked the closets, looked under the bed, and even searched the trash can. No sign of Buddy.
Finally, the house was empty and the truck was loaded. It was time to leave. Sophie sat in the back seat, troubled.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" mom asked.
"I couldn't find Buddy anywhere," Sophie sniffled.
Mom gave dad a meaningful look. Dad cleared his throat. "Well, actually..." he began and pulled something from the glove compartment. "Buddy wanted to travel in the front seat!"
Sophie was overjoyed to see her beloved toy. "Buddy! You little adventurer!"
The journey to the new home began with laughter.
The family drove through the city, passing parks and shops. Sophie looked out the window excitedly.
"Look!" she suddenly exclaimed. "There's a dog that looks just like Buddy!"
Everyone looked out the window. Indeed, walking on the street was a dog that looked like a living version of Buddy.
"Maybe it's Buddy's cousin," Emma suggested.
"Or Buddy's secret identity," Alex added, laughing.
The new house was yellow with a red roof. An old apple tree grew in the yard.
When they entered, they noticed something strange. In the corner of the living room stood an old grandfather clock that seemed to be ticking backward.
"Oops," dad said. "Looks like we have a time-traveling clock. Maybe we can go back in time and avoid that sofa accident!"
Everyone laughed, even dad, whose toes were still a bit sore.
Sophie looked around, smiling. The new home already felt homey. She hugged Buddy to her chest and knew that many new adventures lay ahead - quite ordinary ones, but exciting nonetheless.
